How To Make Xbox 360 Controller Work On Call Of Duty: WAW PC

September 15, 2009

World At War for the PC suppose to support the Xbox 360 controller but it doesn't by default. The back of the box for the PC version says it supports Xbox 360 Controller For Windows. When people plug the controller in and try to use it on the game, it just doesn't work. I was frustrated with Xpadder and the other tiny software you use to make any game controller work with a PC game. They just don't work well, the controls gets screwy and it also makes your mouse cursor move eradically. Xpadder was retarded trying to get a PS3 controller to work. Only a few of the buttons worked in WAW. Everything else don't do anything. I was looking to buy the wireless receiver from Microsoft which can be use to connect the wireless 360 controllers to PC, but they are discontinued and can no longer be found at stores. My only option was to buy the wired 360 controller. I got one at Walmart, the back of the package says it works with Vista. I plugged it into my computer via USB, Windows 7 recognized it automatically and installed the driver. I started up COD: WAW on PC, as you know, the controller doesn't do anything from the get go.

Here's what you gotta do:

1. Go to WAW Options & Controls
2. Game Options
3. Enable Console - set to YES
4. Type ~ key, next to number 1
5. Type "exec default_controller.cfg" without the quotes, press Enter

The controller will not work in the Menus, start up a game to use it.

If you go into the Controls options, you'll even see Xbox 360 buttons and it's color as the option, the devs programmed the game to work with the controller. But they didn't enable it by default and say that they do not officially support game controllers. What's up with that?

The button configurations are already configured for the game, right trigger for shoot, left trigger for aim, left stick push for run, X for reload, ...etc.

ZoneAlarm prevents Windows 7 Upgrade

July 30, 2009
Windows 7 will not allow you to upgrade if ZoneAlarm is installed on your computer. Even if you had already removed it, it may still not allow you to continue with the upgrade. If this happens you must run this http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/free/support/cpes_clean.exe After you run, reboot and try Windows 7 upgrade again. It should allow you to continue the installation.

Windows 7 Ultimate OEM Cracked and Activated Before Release Day

July 29, 2009

Less than 3 months before Windows 7 is released to consumers, the product key to activate and license Windows 7 OEM is leaked. The license is making it's way around the net and the OEM iso image has been spreading out on torrent sites and newsgroups for days. A search on google or going into mydigitallife.info can reveal the license key.

Quick info on how to license and activate the OEM Windows 7:

-Install Windows 7
-Download WoW7 and install it to the drive where bootmgr (hidden) is located, usually C:\.
-Start/RUN/CMD then Type without the quotes "slmgr.vbs -ilc C:\HPQOEMSLIC-MPC.XRM-MS" and press enter. Wait for the dialog box indicating the license file was installed successfully.
-Type without the quotes "slmgr.vbs -ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX"  Replace these X's with the Windows 7 OEM Serial # you find at mydigitallife.info or from other sites. Wait for the dialog box indicating the key was installed successfully.
-Reboot
-Go to Control Panel and view your system info, and you should see that "Windows is activated"

You can now use Windows 7 for an unlimited time and can download windows updates.

Solve DVD Decrypter Out of Memory Error

May 06, 2009

If you're getting this error, use VobBlanker 2.1.3.0

Leave it at default settings and browse to your files and select destination. When done, you'll hear "Meep, Meep". Then try out DVD Decrypter again. Works for me.

CompUSA.com has the 28" I-Inc LCD Monitor for $299

April 21, 2009

This is currently the best price for a 28" LCD monitor. Also, at $299, it's the lowest price this monitor has ever been. It's got 1920 x 1200 resolution, HDMI input and built-in speakers. I got mine at Newegg few months back, but it's called Hanns G, not I-Inc...same manufacter, identical specs...Hanns G has glossy front bezel, the I-Inc is matte. It's a huge monitor and it's very bright! I had to turn down the brightness when I first hooked it up. It still lights up the entire room when it's on. It's great for gaming too, and excellent addition to hook up a PS3 or Xbox 360 or an HDMI capable camcorder. Highly recommended! Get yours now while price is still low at CompUSA.com.

Time Warner Cable To Cap Internet Usage

April 10, 2009

UPDATE: TWC has canceled plans to cap internet usage for their customers. Sweetness!

Time Warner Cable lays out new plan to cap internet usage to their customers. This doesn't look good at all, the cap limit is extremely low. I have TWC's Turbo and use way over the limitof 60GB a month. Rediculous greedy bastards.

  • A limited package for "light users" at 1GB/month, 768KB down / 128KB up, with overage charges of $2/GB/month.
  • Road Runner Lite, Basic, Standard, and Turbo packages at 10GB / 20GB / 40GB / and 60GB caps, respectively, and overage charges at $1/GB/month.
  • A big daddy, 100GB Turbo package at $75/month with overage fees of $1/GB, which, when coupled with that magic threshold of $75 in charges, becomes the "unlimited" plan.

Windows 7 Will Be On Hold

January 14, 2009

UPDATE: I JUST INSTALLED THE WIN7 ATI DRIVER AND RAN THE MOBILITY MODDER ON IT AND NOW THE GRAPHICS ARE FULL RESOLUTION AND NO LONGER SAYS "MOBILE PC DISPLAY". NOW I'M OFF TO FURTHER TEST WIN7.

I just tried testing out the new Windows 7 Beta on my 17" HP Laptop. I can't find a graphics driver that would work so I can set it to a higher resolution. Microsoft's automatic search for drivers didn't find the right one. The official driver for X600 Radeon Mobility for Vista for the HP Laptop can be installed but the driver will not initialize. So I was stuck to using Windows "Standard Graphics Adapter" at a very low resolution. I can't work with a low resolution, so I ghosted my old OS back into the Laptop. I'm sure later they will have the correct drivers for the display. There's no way I will install Windows 7 Beta on any of my desktops. Vista is working well for now.
