Sony has just announced the PS3 Slim. The real pics of it are shown here. $299 and launching September 1. Will not play PS2 games. No on/off switch on the back like the fat PS3.

Not likely. Already have the fat one, and it plays PS2 games, slim does not. No need for me to get it.
